    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is the only English class that has truly prepared me for college. This course helps you learn how to write a real thesis/claim and provide explanation for each piece of evidence used. This course teaches you to learn time management and also taught me how to annotate in a way that actually helps write analysis papers, whereas my previous English classes simply told us to just write in the book.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course include you learning how to write a paper. Not a paper that will get you an A because your grammar and spelling was good. But a paper that has paragraphs longer than half a page, and a thesis/claim that sets up a good paper. This class taught me that an English paper is not just summarizing and providing quotes. It taught me that an English paper is providing your arguments, your thoughts and your opinions and proving you're right with those quotes and other evidence.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Come to class prepared, on time, and ready to go. Otherwise you will most likely not do well in this class. You are treated like an adult so act like one and get your work done.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to any Junior Students who are looking to challenge themselves in the English class, and are looking for a way to better prepare themselves for collage and collage admission essays than any other class out there.

    Course highlights:

This class helped me become so much more developed and advanced as a writer-before, I would earn easy A's by just kind of writing. However now, after this class, I know exactly how to format different types of essays, and it is so clear to me now how to make it sound smart without adding confusing words. I know how to better explain my ideas, start an essay, and come up with more things to talk about. Also, before, I thought I did not need to use an outline before writing an essay. However now, I have learned to spend time on an outline, so that actually writing my essay takes almost ten minutes. It has made life simpler and not as stressful. I highly recommend CC Comp 101 when it comes to classes which will prepare you for the future and which will guide you along to become a better writer than you ever thought possible! And trust me, this is a very important skill when it comes to ACT essay writing, along with college entrance submissions!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I think that the one thing that you simply cannot afford to do in this class, is procrastination. The teacher will know. your writing is so much better when it isn't late at night. Also, always stay on top of the book readings and be able to participate in class discussions. These couple of things will enable students to succeed in this class with out a big deal at all!
