Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it's really expanded my view on how and why people act certain ways. It also has made me more concensious of my surroundings and I've found myself helping those that may be being discriminated against and even got me out there on the streets for the woman's March. It's an almost spiritual awakening sort of class and it will make you a better person and student.

    Course highlights:

The highlight for me was the last unit we did about social startificafion and discrimination against certain ethnicities and sexes. I learned about gender socialization which I would like to express more in the future. It's the idea of what a gender should be like or act like and it really made me think why do we have these norms for genders? Why do we expect them to act this way?

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to stay on top of your work. We had a few projects this year and I got a bit behind on my work and had to rush at the end to pull it off. But really overall, just enjoy the class and the different curriculum that you don't usually get in a classroom

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course focused on learning the basics of chemistry. It was extremely vigorous and time consuming but it taught not only chemistry, but how to manage time and handle large work loads in college. I feel very prepared for my college science classes because of this class. I highly recommend it to anyone who is up for a challenge and is passionate in learning the basics of how the elements work in our world.

    Course highlights:

We learned how the elements on the periodic table interact with one another and how the elements are present in everything in our world. We studied inorganic and organic chemistry and experimented with all concepts in the lab. We had a lab almost every week so if you are a hands-on learner, this class will be very fun for you! We applied all of the material learned in the textbook to the labs and saw first hand the reactions that were read in the book.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend keeping extremely organized notes and organize all of the formulas you learn. I kept all of my formulas on one paper so I knew exactly where they were located and which ones to use. Also, do your reading homework when it is assigned and don't put it off until the day before it's due, read a little bit every day. Finally, start studying for tests at least a week before test day, because this material isn't the kind that will stick with little preparation.
