    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this class because Mr. Smith was a helpful teacher. His passion for the subject was evident. He captivated his students with his knowledge of the course. Also, there were a lot of interesting discussions held in the course that I found intriguing. We also played a lot of games to prepare us for the AP exam. Those were very beneficial to me because I still remember them to this day.

    Course highlights:

First of all, I learned a lot about how our country got its independence. Not only that, I learned about the many trials our country faced after we became an independent nation. Topics such as slavery, court cases, and women's rights were covered heavily in this course. Therefore, I learned a tremendous amount about the struggles our country faced. We also learned about each president and how they handled situations that our country was facing at the time. We talked about their different views on politics. Also, I improved greatly on my writing skills. Essays are a fundamental part of the course and the writing skills I attained will help me throughout college.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Although the course was challenging, I gained a lot of wisdom that I will use for the rest of my life. That being said, the course does require tremendous amounts of hard work. It is not a course that you can pass if you do not try. Studying the material and asking questions are the best way to be successful in the course. I found that flashcards are very helpful when studying for the tests. Also, using the resources that the instructor gives you is a huge advantage. For example, Mr. Smith gave us a list of terms that we would see on the test. Studying those terms allowed me to gain more knowledge on the subject and overall do well on the exam.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

APUSH was a very difficult course, however, my teacher really knew his stuff. You are expected to know specific factual information for every topic which means this course requires a lot of memorization.

    Course highlights:

For the most part, this course taught me how to study. However, I also learned how the US became the super power it is today. I learned how a country of nothing turned into a land for people to make their hopes and dreams a reality.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do your reading notes and watch videos on your own to further understand the course. Sometimes 55 minutes isn't enough time to grasp the whole concept of what happened during a century.
