Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is the best English class I have taken these four years of high school. Mr. McManus is a very good teacher. He is kind and cares about your well-being and education. We read very interesting books and poems. This course has definitely improved my writing and skills in English. I would recommend it because of my improvement in English and my teacher’s knowledge of the subject.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of this course is definitely the teacher and the books we read. He is very dedicated and loves his job. He is passionate about his work and it shows by the way he teaches the course. I have read so many amazing novels this year that I would not have read if I did not take this English course. I have learned how to write better essays, analyze novels and poems, and succeed in multiple choice questions. This course has changed the way I look at English and improves my skills every day.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Some advice I would give a student who is considering this course is- do not take advantage of the teacher’s kindness, do your work on time, and practice. The teacher is very kind and will understand your issues and try to help you succeed. Do not take advantage of this. Work hard to turn in assignments on time. It will be better for you and your classmates. We have many discussions and it is hard when people do not know what they are talking about. It is important to practice your writing and reading outside of your classroom. Do not leave all the studying for the classroom. Do research on the novels your read. It is important to have in depth knowledge of them. If you do these things you will succeed in this course.
