    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Burkeen is a professional microbiologist, and now she is an academic dean at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is difficult. Her tests are a mix of multiple choice and short essays. However, she is able to make microbiology easy to understand. Plus she's funny.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part was lab. It made everything tangible.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes in class and attend every lecture if you have trouble with the material

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I was surprised at how interesting I found this course. Dr. Hollier definitely relates the information to a public health/medicine perspective which makes the information feel more applicable to our studies.

    Course highlights:

The breakdown of organisms, their pathologies and treatments made this course feel more applicable and not so boring. Dr. Hollier made it exciting and his handouts are great reference guides.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely listen to all of Dr. Hollier's lectures. They can be long but ALL of the information you will need corresponds with his handouts. I found making flashcards of organisms really helped me remember their genus and pathologies and how they relate to public health issues.
