Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You learn all the terms you can know about the medical field. Before i took this class I didn't think anything about the specific words you needed to use when working in a hospital environment. You learn a lot in so little time, and i would definitely take this class again if i could.

    Course highlights:

I learned what the meaning of many of these unknown words. When I saw these words for the first time i actually thought about quitting, but now I know how this has benefited me. I am now a CNA pushing myself to be the best I can be.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to stay focused, and you need to actually have a passion for something in the medical field.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course if anyone is interested in the pharmacy field. This class teaches you all of the different tasks a pharmacy technician does, all of the laws a pharmacist and pharmacy technician must work by, and all of the math calculations you must do to be a pharmacy technician.

    Course highlights:

The highlights would definitely be the hands on labs that we did in class. We learned about the Aseptic technique (the technique used to compound medications), and we put on the Personal Protective Equipment, which is equipment needed to compound. We also learned how pharmacists who compound wash their hands. It is a long process to do the hand washing, but your hands and forearms are definitely clean!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give would be to make sure you know how to do all of the math calculations. Also, make sure you know all of the laws and what each law does. There are so many laws that a pharmacist and pharmacy technician must work by, you must know all of them.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because you learn all of the terminology that is used in the medical field! It is only a semester long course, but we covered a little over 300 terms! The class will set you up for success in any medical class you plan on taking after med term!

    Course highlights:

At first, we mainly focused on suffixes in med term. Then once we finished the suffixes, we went to prefixes. Then, after that, we put the suffixes and prefixes together and we made and studied words. Then when we did all of that, we looked at situations where we would use those medical terms that we have learned

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In my med term class, we learned the vocab words in sets of twenty five. So, my first piece of advice would be to make sure you know the words you are studying inside and out! It will make that class a lot easier if you know all of the words! My second piece of advice is to make sure you don't fall behind. Since we do twenty five word increments, it is really hard to miss a class because when you miss, you have to study the words you missed, plus the words you got that next time in class. It will help you out a lot if you are always at class and put in the effort to memorize the words!
