    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone you has to take a chemistry course for their major in college. It is a great way to get the basic information needed before going into the more complex problems that will be thrown at you in college. By taking it in high school, you get a better opportunity to become comfortable with your professor and there is always time to ask questions one on one with the teacher.

    Course highlights:

During this course, I learned the more common elements. I also learned many of the conversion units needed throughout the rest of the course, especially during stoichiometry. You get the opportunity to learn about acids and bases and the different bonds that certain elements can form with other elements.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to make sure they know the ions at the beginning of the year, because they will constantly be used throughout the course in the many different topics covered.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would strongly recommend this class because it is everything that one could want in a chemistry class. Not only are there frequent experiments, but the teacher is incredibly fun, as well. I really enjoyed this class and hope that others can too.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot from this course; including how to work safely with chemicals, how to manage a lab, and much more. My favorite part was whenever my teacher showed us how we could burn hand sanitizer off of our hands without burning our skin. All in all, the experiments we did were fantastic.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you have a basic understanding of chemistry, you will do fine. The course is a lot of fun, and you absolutely will not regret taking it. I have taken two years of chemistry, so far, and have enjoyed both of them.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry is a great way to gradually expand knowledge in a basic science. This class offered me the tools to divulge in complex labs and learn about the foundation of science, including many important discoveries by famous scientists.

    Course highlights:

I particularly enjoyed learning about the elements of the periodic table and there diverse uses. Chemistry is founded primarily on the elements and their specific charges and bonds. Along with the elements, we learned about electronegativity and ions, which are very important in advanced classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study notes every single night. Memorizing information is good, but it is best to have a broad knowledge of everything and approach the class with an open mind. Many struggle with chemistry, and it was tough to constantly get A's on tests and labs. The expectations at Castle High School are set high and only furthered after every graduating class.
