    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was difficult but helpful. The study skills gained by taking this course will help carry me through my senior year, college, and hopefully medical school. Many people don't take this course out of fear they will ruin their GPAs, but they are missing out on so many learning opportunities.

    Course highlights:

Learning about the causes of the world wars was one of the most interesting things to me. The way American government manages to expand and retract the role of the federal government depending on current situations is incredible, and a part of our culture that everyone should understand.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Whether or not you think you can get an A, take the course and you won't be disappointed. You will feel smarter in historical conversations, and will gain some great study skills that are useful for many other classes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was a great course to take, especially from Mr. Schaefer. It was a challenging class and he expected a lot out of us. I honestly learned so much from taking AP US History from him. Not only did I learn a lot from taking his class, but he also helped to prepare us for the actual AP test itself.

    Course highlights:

The highlights that I learned from this course was more insight about World War II. He went into great detail about this time period and even though you may think you know everything there is to learn about WWII, he taught us more in detail about what we may not have known previously.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take lots of notes and do the outlining. Really study for the tests and over all the chapters in the unit. Everything that was discussed during class and in the book is fair game to be on the test.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I found this class extremely challenging, interesting, and fun. I enjoyed learning about the political and social development of our country, and how our society has gotten to where it is now.

    Course highlights:

My favorite unit was about the 1920's. There was incredible economic growth, as well as the challenging of social norms. For example, people started buying things on credit, which was one of the aggravating causes of the Great Depression. Also, women began wearing more makeup and shorter skirts, aggravating the older generation. Finally, it is the era of Jay Gatsby!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to read, because it is necessary. Make notecards, timelines, and Venn diagrams to organize the information. Overall, be prepared to absorb hundreds of year's worth of information in just one.
