    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Biology is such an interesting subject. My chemistry teacher called it "fluffy" science. She talked about it as if it was easy or did not really matter. I want to go back to her and tell her to take AP Biology and then try and say what she said again. Biology is so important to our world. Without biology we would not understand genes, diseases, our environment. Because of biology we are able to find genes that cause cancer. Because of biology we are able to create clones of plants and animals. Man, biology is amazing.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to clone something. Give me the tools man. I'll do it. I learned that plants had an immune system. Plants can kill cells to starve pathogens from feeding off of them. For some plants, when they detect an herbivore such as a caterpillar eating its leaves, they can release a scent into the air that calls a wasp to the plant. Once the wasp is there, it lays its eggs inside the caterpillar so that when the eggs hatch they eat the caterpillar from the inside and kill it. Plants are crazy cool. I never knew they could do such amazing things. I have learned so much I can't even begin to write down all of the amazing and interesting things my brain as obtained.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook! Do the review packets! TRY!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class really prepares you and opens your mind as to how you will have to study in college. It is like opening a fire hydrant and trying to find a way to take a sip of water. There is a plethora of information that builds on itself as the course goes on and it must all be understood to get a good grade in the class. It is a time commitment that students must be willing to give. I would recommend this course because biology is everything, it is the basis of life and we as humans should know about it. As fascinating as it is complicated, biology is always changing and never boring.

    Course highlights:

I loved all the labs that we did as well as the online homework's and videos. Biology is a very visual subject and having visual aids to help with comprehension really made all the difference for me.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say, do the homework. I know there's a lot and you can "check" your answers online, but staying on top of it will actually help you retain the knowledge. Remember, its not about the grade, its about the understanding. If you truly understand the subject matter, you will be top of the class. But for that to happen, you cant slack, cheat, or neglect work.
