    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was easily one of the most generally useful classes I've ever taken. It is a class that should be taken no matter what field of study you go into. This class teaches you how to read and write essays properly, which is a skill that is necessary for nearly any field.

    Course highlights:

What you gain from this course is invaluable. I learned how to properly read an article or essay and dissect it, and then write a proper and well-thought out essay on it. I've used this skill in just about every other class I've taken when I'm told to write an essay.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read and write a lot. Be prepared to put a lot of time and effort into what you are writing. Do not go into this class thinking you can just sit back and relax. This course will benefit you in the end but you have to work for it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

In this class, you strengthen your writing ability. You learn more on writing analytically, and what writing styles are effective. You also are able to collaborate with others about the books you read and get to hear what your peers think.

    Course highlights:

I loved reading The Glass Castle. WE had class discussion on this book, and the book also gave insight to the author's childhood, and challenges she had to come. I enjoyed reading the book, unlike most other books I have read in English.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Buy a 5 steps book. This gives you a study plan throughout the year to follow. It encourages you to practice not only writing, but the multiple choice questions.
