    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to go into pre-med. She is a tough professor, though her work prepares you for the real life. Dr. Burkart is nice and sweet to her students and is willing to work with you during her office hours.

    Course highlights:

I was able to discover the principles of chemistry. Before, I took this class I was having a hard time reading the periodic table trying to locate the atomic structure and atomic mass. There is a lot of stoichiometry problems and it will prepare you for pre-med.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Always be prepared and have the periodic table with you at every class. I would advise you to take notes and highlight key points. Make sure to read and study the materials ahead, so you'll know what the lecture is all about.

I loved the material covered in Chemistry 1211. It allows you to begin understanding in more depth how our world is held together.

    Course highlights:

My favorite aspect of this course was participating in the lab. Performing the labs I felt like a scientists and they accurately prepared me for synthesizing my own compound in Chemistry 1212k.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice, practice, practice the calculations. The key to doing well on the exams is understanding how to apply the equations to different scenarios.
