    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

He knows what he's taking about and he's very engaging and passionate about what is being taught. A lot of practice problems are offered by the professor to better help you and asking questions is always encouraged.

    Course highlights:

Organic Chemistry seems like a very tough subject to engage with but the key is practice because the topics are not difficult to understand. I struggled to practice outside the class in the beginning but once you practice a topic at least once, you'll gain confidence and actually want to keep learning and delving deeper.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to attend every lecture and pay attention in class. The information given in class is not as some people think just given to pass the time. And try to comprehend each topic and not to just memorize because it is a subject that builds on itself.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I had no choice but to take organic chemistry since I am a biology major and I was absolutely terrified, but Dr. Harden was a very good professor. He understood the fact that Organic Chemistry is a beast and really broke down various concepts to make sure we understood as much as we could. His office hours were also very helpful and he had different worksheets that he would post for practice at home.

    Course highlights:

There are certain things that everybody learns in this class like resonance, functional groups, strong versus weak acids and some other small concepts. But what I really enjoyed learning were reactions. In order to learn reactions, you need to know and remember everything that you learned form Organic Chemistry I, especially resonance, nucleophiles, electrophiles, and more baseline concepts.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to put in the work. You are going to need to remember things from Organic Chemistry I that you were hoping would go away forever. I personally did all of his worksheets that he posted and went to his office hours when I had a question. It was a lot of work but it paid off in the end.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr harden can seem very intimidating, but he's nice and he really does want his students to succeed outside of school. That being said, his tests are very hard do be prepared to work.

    Course highlights:

I love the fact that it's nothing like general chemistry and the professor try's to tie it in to real life situations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work if you want an A, or to even pass.
