    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because Dr. Oommen is a fantastic instructor, and she makes learning genetics engaging and fun. Although she is funny, Dr. Oommen is huge on accuracy. She will keep the student on his or her toes at all times. If the student puts in the work for this course, he or she will be successful. There are plenty of practice problems given throughout the class, and Dr. Oommen is helpful outside of class.

    Course highlights:

I gained a better understanding of meiosis and mitosis as well as assigning alleles. I also learned the proper way of distinguishing the genome and ploidy of an organism. Again, Dr. Oommen emphasized accuracy which made me more conscious of analyzing the information.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice! Practice! Practice! Be sure to complete problems at the end of the chapters that are assigned as well as problems the professor posts. Stay on top of this material. You will make it easier on yourself versus you wanting until the last minute. Don't allow the course to be overwhelming when it does not have to be.
