Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course helps to provide insight into a novel that other high school lack. The course allows you to explore novels, short stories, and poems intimately, thus, allowing you to reach conclusions previously unbeknownst to you.

    Course highlights:

I learned how different authors weave their novels to reach a moral, or insight to society or other such things. I learned how to analyse a text on a college level and learned how to dig into the text with enthusiasm.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared for a lot of reading and coursework. While, the course may be rigorous it will be worth the effort in the end. Even if you may not pass the IB test in the Spring, you will have gained skills and life experience.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

IB English has not only taught me how to analyze literature and construct pieces of writing I never could before, it has also taught me valuable skills for the world. I have learned to critically analyze events and never believe something just because it is told or widely accepted. Everyone can benefit from this, especially in our world today

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the times I struggled in writing pieces and seminars. This is because it taught me even more, and motivated me to learn. I was able to connect the pieces of literature we read to my own life as well as the world. This changed the way I think about things, and the incredibly deep discussions helped me grow as a writer and person.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would encourage students to cease procrastination habits and fully soak in the information. It is important to fully apply yourself and give the teacher and class all you can. All of the reading must be done and it will only help if you are willing to grow.
