    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Prior to entering my junior year, I had absolutely no appreciation for the educational opportunities I had been presented with. However, this English course forever changed my life simply for the fact that it completely shaped me into the writer and thinker that I am today. The use of grammar and figurative language was made much more clear to me; I can easily identify and recognize techniques in literature as well as understand how they play a crucial role in writing as well as thought.

    Course highlights:

Although this course did take a lot of effort and handwork, it didn't come without reward. This course strengthened my nonexistent knowledge of grammar and standard English conventions; my writing and thought processes have developed into a much more sophisticated tone. This course helped me in my reading skills as well; now every book I read cannot be read without me subconsciously picking out themes and recognizing the author's intent that would otherwise be overlooked.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course is very heavily focused on prose, writing styles, and everything with grammar. Although this is a very tough course, your life will be a million times easier if you sit down and really make sure you know the definitions of terms and figurative language devices.
