    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course if you are not already very good at English and writing essays. I took this class last year and all we did was read and write essays. I feel like it would of been beneficial if the teacher would of had conferences with the students about their writing abilities and how to improve, but the entire year I kept getting my paper back, and I always got the same score. I didn't improve the entire year. So when it came time to take the AP Exam, I felt very unprepared.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics on how to write each essay, but I didn't learn how to be a better writer. We read a lot so I feel like one positive outcome of the course was that my reading comprehension got better. Over though, I feel like my English skills did not improve from this course because the lack of assistance I got the entire year,

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read!! You have to read every week whether it be a book, poem, short story, etc. If you have homework and its a reading passage, you will have a quiz the next day!! Also, the course is full of heavy and in depth material, so be ready to use your brain to interpret poems and share their meaning to the class. Overall, be prepared for a lot of homework and a lot of reading.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I've loved English ever since I was a freshman. I loved the idea of making stories, poems, and learning proper grammar.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about Shakespeare and his works, a swell as what to say regarding proper English.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, study, study! Working hard and staying on task will give you that A+ for sure!
