Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This teacher is amazing and is always willing to help out her students. She also finds alternative ways to teach and help understand material. She has several different choices for material review, including pod cast, power points, crossword puzzles, in class activities, and fun games to help learn the material.

    Course highlights:

You learn a lot about bacteria and how they interact with the surrounding world. The most fun part about the class is the hands on lab time. You will do an "Unknowns Project" where you are giving an unknown bacteria and are expected to be able to to run different lab test learned thought the semester to figure out what you have. It is actually really fun and exciting and rewarding.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you stay on top of your work and stay focused. There is a lot of material covered, but if you take the time to work on it as you go, then it really isn't overwhelming.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was a great way to be introduced to the study of bacteria and how to differentiate them in the laboratory

    Course highlights:

I learned how to use selective bacterial media and tests to identify an unknown bacteria. It was a long process to learn all the bacteria's characteristics, but it was very rewarding knowing that I was able to do it correctly.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Repetition is the key for learning things like bacterial characteristics. Just be sure to take breaks and do something you enjoy for 20-30 minutes a few times a day so you don't lose you sanity :)
