    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

If you enjoy reading and discussing, I would recommend continuing from AP Lang and take this class. The books are interesting, and very little work is assigned. However, the lack of work during the school year caused us to have to cram for the AP exam, but I ended up with a 4, so I still came out of this class with some knowledge.

    Course highlights:

Class discussions were a staple of this class. The class was small, so I felt I could participate more. Most of the writing done is note-taking for the books assigned. I learned a lot about the themes and symbols of each novel.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to keep up with the reading; it is one of the few assignments in this class. There are rarely tests, but when there are, they are highly focused on events in the book. It helps to take notes on the reading, even if they are not being collected.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is great college preparation and an interesting course.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the depth of stories that I thought I already knew. For example, the Mayor of Casterbridge has a character with moral ambiguity

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Read ahead of the stories so that you don't have to cram in the end

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is my personal opinion that this course is very helpful with honing your writing skills which is very important in the college application essay process.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was that it was a great preparatory course for writing my college essays. I learned how to write assignments that included expository, analytical and argumentative essays .

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advise that I would give to students considering this course would be Take AP Lit. Having a teacher grade your practice essays is much more reliable.
