    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It teaches you an immense amount of skills that you need to go to college. It's challenging. It's difficult, and it makes you think, and it's everything an English course should be.

    Course highlights:

We read Shakespeare, we read Charles Dickens, and we read novels from the Gothic era. We read novels that were still written in the old english language. I was taught to make inferences with very small amounts of information, to analyze every little detail, and then to write a proper, eleven page essay about it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Finish the reading early, then go back and reread closer to the due date so you don't miss anything. Spend a ridiculous amount of time studying. You can't give a half-baked answer and expect a decent grade. Finally, prepare yourself for a long ride. It's going to be tough.

    Course highlights:

We read books that were still written in the early english language. We read Shakespeare, we read Charles Dickens, and we read novels from the Gothic era. I learned how to make inferences with very little information, to analyze and pick apart every small detail, and then to write a proper, eleven page essay about it. This is the best course I have ever taken.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Finish the reading early, then go back and reread closer to the due date so you don't miss anything. Get in the habit of writing formally. Also, you have to use your brain. You can't give a half-baked answer and expect a decent grade. Finally, prepare yourself for a long ride. It's going to be tough.
