Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

High level classes are usually enjoyable because your classmates are generally people who also care about their education. Ms. Tierney did a good job of making class fun while still teaching us what we needed to know. It was definitely a lot of work, though. I put in some solid hours of writing.

    Course highlights:

I had to do a four day presentation with a group, which was a big challenge. By the end, though, I was extremely comfortable presenting to the class, often with less preparation than I should have had. It really developed my skills and comfort with public speaking.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's good to take as many College Now courses as possible in high school. CN Writing requires a lot of writing (obviously), but it made me more comfortable producing large amounts of writing in a short period of time, which will be an important skill in the future.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this class to every student at Sheldon High School, because it has been one of the only classes in which I have been pushed to look deeper into how my life, and the people in it, have shipped me into the person that I am today. Also, I would recommend this class, because in it I have been challenged, I have become a better and more creative writer, and I have been encouraged to express my true feelings in my writing.

    Course highlights:

In College Now Writing, I learned how to express myself in my writing, and how to appreciate creative writing

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to dive into deep stuff. Ask questions, seek guidance, and always explain how what you're writing connects with the topic.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because I feel it helps you learn a lot about yourself and those around you. This course is very life changing if you allow it to be.

    Course highlights:

I learned that privilege is both a good and a bad thing depending on how you choose to let it dictate the way you treat others.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Allow this course to take over and don't be afraid to speak your mind. You won't sleep but you'll learn a lot about yourself.
