    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course not only helps to develop a better understanding on the structural and thematic purpose behind literature, but it also develops your writing technique. No matter where your current skill level is, this course will improve your writing ability.

    Course highlights:

I personally learned how to effectively create a strong thesis, and use thematic purpose and literary devices to further develop that thesis. I also learned how to balance my time while reading a piece of literature, as some pieces required a higher time commitment. My overall skill in essay writing has increased, but also my understanding of thematic meaning in literature has developed. In poetry as well, I now have a better understanding of thematic purpose and how the literary devices develop that teme.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take instruction in a positive light. Any criticism is only made to improve your writing. Also, learn to balance your time, as you may be reading multiple pieces at once.
