    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because taking APUSH taught me to create good study habits. I feel that it prepared me for college. It is a challenging course, but I learned a lot and I improved my work ethic and study habits tremendously.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the history of the United States while also developing writing skills. I learned about the important events that affected the USA during each presidency and much more. Our class had big discussions each day that really helped me form a better understanding of the subject.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

For thus course, it is important that you put much time and effort into your homework and studying. You will not be successful unless you are willing to do all the work. Be sure to read everything you are advised to read. The workers are the learners!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Despite the seemingly impossible task of memorizing 400-plus years' worth of information in only ninety days, the rewards far outnumber the hardships. Between insightful lectures, riveting course material, and the pure joy of finally understanding a concept, I would never, ever, take back the time spent in APUSH.

    Course highlights:

Throughout the course of APUSH, I learned more facts and statistics and names than even I can fathom. If you were to ask me in person "what I learned," you would most likely hear an hour-long lecture on the effect of boll weevils on the South's doomed silk industry. However, those facts do not matter in the long run. What I truly gained from the class was an open perspective on life and a respect towards our ancestors, and, in the end, that is all that anyone can ask of any great history class.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Honestly, although I rated APUSH as "highly recommended," I will be the first to say that it is not for everyone. Students need to be prepared to put in time and effort if they want to succeed. That means developing study habits, taking excellent notes, and, sadly, reading the textbook. However, the knowledge received through the class is well worth it in the long run. Just keep working.
