Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would 100% recommend everyone to take this enlightening course. A person does not have to pursuing a career in medicine or psychology to benefit for this college level course. The teacher, Mr. Hammond is a great, he really helps explain the material in a way that just makes sense. The class size is not super big either, which gives the class a more personal touch. A majority of the class is strictly memorization of vocab terms, seeing that every Friday you will have a randomized quiz on the terms.

    Course highlights:

Through taking this course, I learned more about the relationship between the human body and mind than I ever knew existed before. This course opened my eyes to how much a person's brain actually impacts everything. Just by taking this one course, has better help me in other science courses such as: Biology Honors, Human Anatomy, and AP Biology. Knowing the foundation of science and history of the brain and body will help a person to develop such an appreciation for psychology. My favorite unit in this course was about brain disorders such as: depression, schizophrenia, bipolar, anxiety. This unit actually encouraged me to pursue a career in medicine to help those suffering such disorders. I received a 4 on the AP exam, which just goes to show how great of a class it is. It isn't just one of those classes that you are bored for an hour, but instead, you actually enjoy being there.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The most important tip I can offer is to study. Some of the material may seem easy, but that is the stuff that people often forget on the test. Study the Barron note cards for the quiz on Fridays, these are easy 100's that make up a huge percentage of your grade. If you are confused about something, go in for tutoring and ask Mr. Hammond, he will be happy to further explain the topic. If you take this class and are not interested in a career field in psychology, don't blow off the class, because I can guarantee that you will walk out knowing more than you did walking in.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours
