Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is not an easy course, but it is also not impossible. There's a lot of fun projects tha5 you will do and a lot of classic literature that doesn't bore you halfway through the course. Despite this being a literature douse there's no extensive amount of writing, but we do have a few Socratic discussions over topics that can enjoyable be supported or argued. This is a really enjoyable class, it would be worth your while.

    Course highlights:

This class really taught me how to express my thoughts at a level more sophisticated than before I entered. I can formulate more intricate ideas and think more creatively, which I really enjoy when we have controversial discussions.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This isn't a class where you would need to spend 6 hours studying for each night. We have small assignments and projects along with a unit test, so really all you have to do is follow along with the course, and you will have no problems with the class. We do touch some difficult concepts sometomes, but with this class, it ends up being really fun trying to learn a new idea. This class really will be worth your while.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP English literature and composition is a wonderful course because it has a sense of freedom that English courses of the past haven't. AP English IV really delves into the heart of classic literature and is thoroughly enjoyable. The freedom I mentioned comes from the fact that these teachers trust that you have already established a foundation in the mechanics and mundane aspects of English, and really just lets you enjoy reading again. Yes, you still have to use your analytical skills previously developed, but you get to interpret the classics in a more personalized way.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course for me was the hands off approach in learning, and understanding the classic British works. While there was certainly more freedom and less handholding , it did not feel overwhelming because of the use of groups. This proved to help develop a more comprehensive sense of the literature because of the various perspectives represented.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not go into this course thinking it's a blow off course. It is challenging, but I feel like its honed my analytical skills, as well given me a greater appreciation of the themes of life, and talent of the old classics.
