Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course because I know the teacher really cares about this social science which as a result teaches students to appreciate learning. This class is in high recommendation on my part because every day I walk into class I am glad to be there.

    Course highlights:

AP Psychology taught me a lot about psychological side effects of drugs and alcohol, the parts of the brain and the functions of the brain. I also learned stages and developments of the brain and many more as the class expands the knowledge of various psychologists and behaviorist.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

People who join this course are in for a great experience but you must do the homework because it is easy for students to fall behind in the notes this class requires for homework. This class is also very independent and although it is easy to find help if the concept of the class was confusing, all students must lift their own weight and take responsibility for their own learning.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to another student based on my personal experience. To begin the teacher Mr. Ryan was beyond passionate about the subject. This added to the classes excitement and allowed me to fall in love with the subject. There were several activities that applied the material we learned in class. For example, when learning about classical conditioning we did our own personal experiments to gain further understanding. We also conducted interviews with individuals that were diagnosed with psychological disorders. This truly helped me to learn the material in a fun and effective manner.

    Course highlights:

Personally, I truly enjoyed every bit of what the class had to offer. Since the beginning of the year I learned so much about psychology that I do not think I will forget anytime soon. For instance, I learned that when infants are in utero they can understand their mother's voice within the 3rd trimester. I also learned that when infants are born they often cry in their accent. For example, a baby from Germany cries in a German accent and a French baby cries with a French accent. Some highlights of the class were the interviews with individuals with psychological disorders, the group discussions on topics, and the experiments we performed in class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students who are taking this course to have good study habits and to be organized. The course comes with several handouts and articles pertaining to material in class. It is helpful to keep them in order of chapters because they make useful study guides. A student considering this course should have a good work ethic because this course does have several quizzes and tests on each chapter and once a student falls behind it is often difficult to catch up.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this class because it was very interesting and Mr. Ryan is a really funny and intelligent teacher. The class is great because we did experiments almost every week and we got to survey other students or see how they react to certain scenarios. I've learned a lot from this class.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the brain and human nature. We also learned a lot about encouraging others and being thoughtful and considerate of others. Our teacher also stressed being efficient and staying on top of our homework and notes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I used flashcards to remember vocabulary and I thought of different experiments that could relate to a topic. I also reread chapters in the textbook and tried to really remember the names of the psychologists mentioned in the book.
