    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend taking AP Chemistry. This course, although not required, is important and some skill learned in this course can be used for other subjects such as Biology or Physics.

    Course highlights:

Some of the main highlights of this course are metric conversions, thermodynamics, acids and bases, electrochemistry, and stoichiometry.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you stay up to point on you chemistry skills, and if you miss a day, go in for tutoring. It is a very beneficial class if you stay up to date on your work and skills.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Gainer is an excellent teacher who truly cares about the success of all his students. He is more than willing to stay after school to work with students until they fully grasp the materials. He also prepares students for the AP test with extra study sessions on the Saturdays leading up to the AP exams.

    Course highlights:

This course gave me a better understanding of general chemistry. It was much more in depth than the pre-ap class the year before and looked more deeply into acid/base equilibrium which was the most complex science concept that I have encountered thus far.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are struggling with a certain concept, go to Mr. Gainer's room after school to do extra work until you better understand the material. He is more than willing to help you. His Saturday study sessions before the AP test help a lot, especially if you haven't been keeping up with the materials you did at the beginning of the year.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry may be difficult for some, but Mr. Gainer was an awesome teacher. He is very understanding and teaches to all students needs.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about chemistry, but learning the ways of a college class were the highlights. I learned how to prepare for test and even classwork.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this class no matter how difficult you think it will be. Mr. Gainer is a great teacher and will help if you are struggling.
