    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course, I took it as a sophomore and it almost over prepared me for AP courses to come. There is no doubt that it was a lot of work but it paid off.

    Course highlights:

The study of people within regions around the world. We watched TED talks and discussed and i got an understanding for the importance of the government within the lives of the people.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the book seriously; use it to your advantage.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Learning about our countries history is very important. Mr. Bivens does a wonderful job of covering all bases of this subject and brings a sense of humor along with his intellectual teachings. He is very knowledge and passionate about this course.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about the 1960's and President John F. Kennedy. My favorite parts of Mr. Bivens's class is when we have our "Moments of Culture" in which he will play music from the different eras or show short clips from popular movies of the time

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to take plenty of notes. He also assigns historical books to read and if you don't read them, your grade will definitely suffer.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The AP US history class helped me broaden my knowledge about the history of my country.

    Course highlights:

The field trip we took to downtown Memphis was the highlight of This class. I learned about the war that was fought right downtown and how it shaped what kind of people came and the economics of our city.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention and take notes in the course. Do not sleep and study hard for the test. Through out the year be sure to be studying for the AP exam.
