    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is very interesting and Mr. Nagel is a very interesting man and teacher! He keeps the class focused and lively. We also read many great works such as Beowulf, Macbeth, Heart of Darkness, and many more.

    Course highlights:

I learned about human nature through the ages. Books like Heart of Darkness question human nature and focus on motifs like racism and darkness. Books like Beowulf, on the other hand, focus on human merit and strength. This class kept me very interested and craving more literature.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read all the books, they are enriching and well written. I have learned so much from reading these pivotal works. Things about human nature, history, etc.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is your basic English class ... Lots of reading and tons of papers. I really dislike the in-class writing assignments.

    Course highlights:

I should have learned to prepare in advance of due dates, but I didn't.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Prepare in advance of due dates! Many of these papers can't be done at the last minute.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is relatively easy to pass, but at certain points it feels almost too easy, which leads to some amount of boredom.

    Course highlights:

Highlights included reading The Princess Bride and eating crepes while watching the movie. I learned a lot about the historical underpinnings of literature, such as the historical background for Beowulf.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

This course requires good writing ability and some amount of time to be set aside for reading stories and poetry. If you like English, take AP instead.
