    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone, because it incorporates all interests into one class.

    Course highlights:

I really liked writing the group papers, teaching me how to deal with other people in a group and write immensely long papers.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You just need to be interested in something, and pay attention in class. Not too difficult.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class is extremely hands-on and features a plethora of build projects that enhance students' knowledge of engineering and construction. To supplement this, there are also many research essays and Excel projects, all of which help to improve writing, research, and technological skills. Overall, the course is a great general preparation for any future field.

    Course highlights:

My favorite parts were the build projects and writing assignments. From the build projects, I gained important problem solving and critical thinking skills. From the writing assignments, I improved my research efficiency and learned how to write persuasive, technical essays

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The course primarily uses class time to complete assignments, and as a result, there isn't much homework. However, if one uses class time ineffectively, the assignments are expected to be completed at home. Build projects are also given deadlines, so it is important to use class time wisely for those as well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As an aspiring engineer (and doctor), I highly recommend this course due to the additional skills that are learned during junior year. This year placed a huge emphasis on writing at a college level--technical research papers, both individual and group, were graded using college expectations. This was incredibly beneficial because it further improves your writing skills and gets you ready for college research papers. Along with this, we also learned how to use power tools for build projects like spring cannons, mouse-trap cars, etc.

    Course highlights:

With Kirsten Fuoti, I became proficient with writing technical papers, working with excel, programming, and more. It is a highly rewarding college-level class and extremely fun. During build projects, we safely used power tools to make spring cannons, catapults, robots, and others. This year, we are learning more about the actual engineering design process rather than research. We have an engineering notebook that we have to fill each day, we are learning how to use Mazatlan and other engineering programs to prepare us for college.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you love working with your hands and being a problem-solver, definitely do this course. Even though it's a college level class in high school, some of the work can be pretty demanding. For example, there was a CAFE standards group paper that we had to write that was minimum 20 pages long. Incredibly hard to do because most of us procrastinated. Do NOT procrastinate!!
