    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The instructor was incapable of creating a suitable environment of challenge for 10th grade honors students. We did not write an essay all year, and the little that we did do was not graded, so there was no feedback to aid in improving our skills. This made the year an utter waste of time and left the class feeling unprepared for higher level courses.

    Course highlights:

We did read the novel Things Fall Apart, which opened an insightful perspective into other cultures, as well as historical background covering British colonialism. The novel was one of the highlights of the year because it presented unique themes that hadn't been covered in any of my previous English classes. The class also held a debate, during which two teams researched a topic and presented segmented speeches in front of a panel. The experience was positive overall, but again the teacher offered little help and left the class to struggle through an assignment they were unprepared for. She offered no feedback and had older students grade the speeches so there was no indication of how well we had performed.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure your teacher is capable before committing to a course. Consider buying additional textbooks to guide your writing, as some instructors are terrible at providing feedback

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Yes I would recommend this course, Mrs. Harline is a good teacher and fun to learn from. I appreciate her ability to teach well and her thorough knowledge of english rules and principles. I trusted what she said.

    Course highlights:

I loved her creativity in her assignments to help us to get outside the box and not turn into little robot writers.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Start early and get as many people to peer edit your papers as possible so they turn out well enough you can be confident handing them in.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course. The curriculum is very beneficial and helps with your everyday life. You learn things that don't only help you in academics but in relationships later in life. The teacher is very kind and works with students until they are able to succeed on their own.

    Course highlights:

We learned a love about love languages and how you can use that knowledge to help you in every kind of relationship. We also learned about our personalities when we took a personality test and that lets us understand why people need or do certain things.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you but in the work you will do fine. It requires that you put in a lot of homework hours and research but you do learn so much useful information that it is worth it. You don't need to be a big reader. If you are looking to improve your writing skills in high school this is the class to take.
