    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Latorre was very encouraging and taught basic English that would be taught in the first year/semester of college. In English 101, understanding the concepts of reading and writing were most important. Mostly every week, each student read an article, highlighting important details then writing a brief one-page paper reflecting on that material.

    Course highlights:

By taking this course, I gained better writing skills, meaning that as I went through this class my writing became better. Grading was very rough and students had to put in their best worth ethic. My favorite part was reading a novel and discussing what the material meant. This helps in areas that deal with communication and it helped students gain the knowledge to do that.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Students that are intending to go to college and cannot afford much, but have the opportunity in high school to take them, do so! Dual Credit classes are so much cheaper and students might actually learn more. It was very difficult, but as long as one tries their best, then its an automatic pass! Anyone can take this course as long as the students actually care.
