    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is designed for students to gain public speaking skills, through various kinds of speeches, which include, introductory (self and other), acceptance, story telling, commemorative, persuasive, and a TED Talk. This course provides students with their required high school public speaking credit, along with the college credit for the class.

    Course highlights:

Through this course, I became more confident in myself, and my abilities to write, prepare, and speak, a well prepared speech. It is because of this course that I was able to compete in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking Contest with in my FFA Chapter and FFA District, I also was confident enough in my abilities to try out for to give a commencement speech for my graduating class, which I was selected for.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you are willing to put the necessary amount of time in to this class, because what you put in, is what you will receive from it. Everyone goes into this course afraid to speak infront of other people, do not let that detour you from taking this class, just go in to this class with an open mind!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Taking this college level course at a high school level is an amazing opportunity. You get to put 3 college credits and it's all for free! Mrs. King will tell you to purchase the textbook, but taking this course I opened it maybe once if that.

    Course highlights:

Mrs. King is a super easy grader. I have fellow classmates who are taking this course now. Granted public speaking is the number one fear next to death, but getting up to in front of a class full of friends isn't to hard. As long as you put forth an effort, you are guaranteed a A!

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to step slightly out of your comfort zone to crack a funny joke. Not the funny type? That's okay too! Most of the speeches assigned in the class are easy going and nothing to be taken too serious.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

Mrs. King is a wonderful teacher. She provides students with the resources to be successful and cultivates a welcoming environment. She is extremely understanding and caring.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights were the opportunity to speak frequently. It is a tough course, but Mrs. King offers all the necessary information to succeed.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The more you throw yourself into the speech, the better grade you will get.
