    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class teaches you important information about our country's history which I believe everyone should have some knowledge about in order to become a more active member of society, especially at such a young age. This class also pushes students to memorize dates, facts, and names that are necessary to know in order to pass the AP Exam.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about our nation's history and how this country has formed into the enterprise it is today. I enjoyed the material due to its fascinating nature and accuracy as to what happened in US history.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Dedicate time to memorizing the dates, names, and facts that your teacher assigns you. There may be a lot of information to know, but it is all relevant in the end and you can never know too much.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP US history will challenge you as a student more than any other course. This course allows you to determine who you are as a student. AP US history is a very difficult course, it's all about motivation and determination. Through my own experience I highly recommend this course.

    Course highlights:

AP US taught me more about college than any other class in high school. For instance, I learned how to be independent. My teacher was not constantly on my back about getting late work in, it was up to me to figure it out. Also, if I missed a class it was my responsibility to get the notes online and come in for questions. In addition, the course material itself was way more difficult than what I was used to. Because of AP US I was making study groups with my classmates, coming in for help more often, and taking more time out of my day to study the material that was given. The course taught me how to have better communication with my classmates and teacher.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT GIVE UP. As difficult as it seems in the beginning it gets better. I remember wanting to give up so bad, but I am glad I stuck it through. No matter what you will succeed in the course if you go in for help, find some friends to study with, and are motivated to do well. The most important advice I could give you is to stay positive through the course work and not to give up. A positive attitude with allow you to strive in the course.
