    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Truly realizing how facianating the world is, allows for the opportunity to grow an appreciation for other cultures. Possessing the ability to decipher cultural differences, while also knowing how to carry out the appropriate actions once in an unfamilar cultural climate, is gravely important. Making a conscious decision to not just tolerate, but truly accept differences among groups of people promotes the opportunity for everyone, despite cultural differences, to live harmoniously.

    Course highlights:

I loved the way Dr. Cummings was able to teach us certain customs from around the world which we may not have been familiar with. It was eye-opening to notice how small gestures, or body movements such as showing the bottom of a shoe, or foot may be offensive to someone from a different culture. It allows me to be more conscious of certain actions I take, and makes me gain an interest in learning more about customs of other cultures, so I will be a well mannered, respectful guest when traveling.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Have an open mind! Overall, the course is very enjoyable, so make sure to pay attention, because the material is so valuable. Also, be sure to take notes when reading coirse material as the will definitely come in handy for tests or other written assignments.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is amazing. As a transfer student, this was one of my first classes at Mercer and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Vas (as he asks you to call him) was understanding as well as had a true heart for what he taught.

    Course highlights:

This class was discussion based, mainly around the different cultures found in the books we read throughout the semester. These discussions were the highlight of the course, as I enjoyed hearing the point of views of the many cultures in my classroom.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you participate in class, this class is a breeze and so much fun! It was my favorite class to attend Fall 2016
