    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Oshida was nothing but supportive throughout the entire school year, and made sure to keep every single student engaged in class. She taught various skills that we were bound to use in every day situations, including creating our own resumes, and how to write and perfect formal essays, The challenge of AICE was well worth it.

    Course highlights:

I've gained various writing-centered skills I need to create formal essays, resumes, and gained a higher degree of comprehension as well as critical thinking when reading works of literature, especially American Literature.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Figure out your best way of learning, communicate with your teacher, and do not take this course if you aren't willing to put in the extra effort to complete the work for a better grade. Grading in AICE courses is harder than that of regular courses.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is a lot of work but it opens your mind to many different things. She goes beyond the curriculum, it's English mixed in with a slice of life. Unlike other courses, you can see the purpose of you taking the class, it's more than just a grade. AICE English with Ms. Griffin prepares you for the real world.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this course we read texts like Nickle and Dimed, Invisible Man, The Great Gatsby, A Raisin in the Sun, and more. All these novels we somehow related it our everyday lives. As a teenager I think that really helped out because it always seems like we're being forced to read something, something that's irrelevant to us. But with this course you wanted to work, I would definitely recommend this course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate. Do all your homework and classwork on time because no late work is graded. Be organized, this course comes with work, homework isn't fill in the blank, you have to put in thought and effort.
