Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr Mayfield truly cares about the students and makes sure everyone understands the content before moving on. He gets each student involved without calling anyone out and making them uncomfortable.

    Course highlights:

I have gained a better understanding of our government and how to get involved. I took the class during an election year and the class helped me understand what I was reading online about the election and the candidates.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read almost every night. The assignments aren't big but he randomly checks the notes. Study everything for the tests, even the things he says might not be on them.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to challenge themselves and learn a lot about the history of the United States in the process. Overall, this course taught me how to manage my time and although it was difficult at times, I felt extremely ready for the AP test.

    Course highlights:

From this course I gained a deeper and more well rounded understanding of the history of the United States. While this course cannot go extremely in depth about any individual historical event, I felt that my knowledge was not lacking in any area. I am truly astounded by my ability to explain the historical context around a specific topic, even after the course was completed. The biggest highlight of this course would definitely have to be the knowledge content that you leave the course with.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are going to take on this course be ready to read. One of the biggest parts of this class is keeping up on the reading. If you do not, you will not be able to participate in class discussions and you most likely will not pass the tests. That is not to say that if for some reason you begin to fall behind on the reading you cannot catch up, because you can. However, it will be far more difficult to catch up if you do.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because before the course I knew very little about politics and leaving the course I felt very prepared to have conversations with others about politics and felt very educated.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were being able to watch the news and understand what was being said about presidential candidates and what not and also being able to have conversations with my parents and other people and really know what is being said and having my own opinion.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work and study and be quizzed frequently. It is very tough and you need to be able to motivate yourself to read all the pages assigned and study for those quizzes and tests.
