    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this to anyone who has a general knowledge of chemistry. This class builds upon the basics and expands on general knowledge. I would take a normal and easy chemistry class before to gain a better understanding. This course helped to see the world in a different way.

    Course highlights:

In this class I gained a greater and more in depth knowledge concerning the world of chemistry. Not only do you learn about chemistry, but how the world around us works. As we better understand our world the better we can learn to help those around us.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take a regular chemistry class before a more complex class like Chem. 1110 is taken. If a Flex class or advisory class is offered, be sure to take it. Read the material and be sure you understand it all thoroughly.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it gives students the opportunity to earn 5 credit hours at Weber State University. Instead of it being a semester class, students are given the entire year to learn the material. It helps if you struggle with chemistry, because you are taught at a slower pace unlike the course at the college. The teacher is great at explaining and teaching the different chapters, and is always willing to help if needed.

    Course highlights:

Before I took this class I knew nothing about Chemistry. After taking the class I had a good base knowledge about the curriculum. I really learned the most about the periodic table and elements. It was very informational.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's a college course, so you have to treat it like one. It is not a basic high school class. Study, or else it will hurt you and your grade. Take the time to understand the material. DO the homework, don't just look at the answers or else you won't gain much from it and fail the tests.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a challenge and it does require effort in taking good notes, completing all of the practice problems, and studying the material, but it teaches interesting and useful things that apply to many different areas of life.

    Course highlights:

The labs were the best part of the course because they taught new concepts through hands-on experience. The labs were also fun for the fact that we were allowed to learn through the use of fire and dangerous chemicals. I was able to dive deeper into the construction and function of atoms, elements and chemicals and learn more about they way they interact. I learned about the use of various chemicals and elements in everyday life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you have any questions about anything, make sure to ask the teacher. You may not be the only person confused about a certain concept. Also, getting to know the periodic table and the locations of the different categories and elements within it would be an advantage because the periodic table is used a lot in the class.
