Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course because the professor is very precise when giving feedback and will take the time to answer questions on the homework. Although it was not an "easy A," if a student does their work and attends the classes, an A should be attainable. The professor was also very organized and punctual.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was the online homework. Although I had never completed math homework online prior to taking this class, I completed it with little to no problems. The professor also took the time to explain the online textbook and homework. This was a highlight because it taught me how to use such materials. I can now say that I have experience with that program and type of homework.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The greatest advice that I could offer to a student taking this course would be to attend the lectures. If a student does not attend the lecture, the could miss out on valuable information and will have no notes on the section. As a new section is begun every class, I highly recommend studying any notes you took either the day or the day after you took those notes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor doesn't mess around and get off topic every class, as well as the fact that he generally sticks to the schedule written up in his syllabus. Even though the class is difficult, the way that Shwartz teaches it makes it easier to learn.

    Course highlights:

In this class, I learned some time management. The professor, unlike the others I've had, didn't remind us when homework was due -- you're expected to keep track of it yourself. This was very valuable, along with the general calculus information.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't put off your homework until the last minute, the beginning may be easy, but as the material becomes much newer, it will take longer to complete the assignments -- do them at least two days before they are due to have access to help if you need it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in math. Lots of background knowledge is required but it is definitely worth it!

    Course highlights:

Optimization (real world examples) were a big part of this course. We also learned about limits, derivatives, integrals, and other basic calculus concepts.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend that students study more than is required for the course. All of the homework problems were not enough for me to fully understand the concepts.
