    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is the most difficult course I have ever attempted. The instructor was terrible and did not effectively teach anything.

    Course highlights:

The only thing I gained from taking this course was an increased dosage of my anxiety medication. Everything I remembered about chemistry after the fact were things I learned in middle and high school.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

My advice , if unable to take a course with a different instructor, is to get yourself a tutor and find a way to teach yourself the material. The course book is really just a bunch of his own notes and they don't make a lot of sense, and the lab doesn't really teach much except for how to follow directions. Learn outside of the classroom. Go to the lectures so that you know what topics are being covered, and then find a way to teach it to yourself or find someone who knows the subject to teach it to you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to anyone that is interested in science! Professor Evett is an excellent teacher and the class size is small enough that you can get some one-on-one time every week.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about basic chemistry! I took honors chemistry earlier in high school so I was familiar with some of the stuff but the depth of this course was way more satisfying.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard for the exams and the final! If you pay attention in class, you will not have a tough time. Do not try and cram the night before, that does not work in chemistry. If you do the homework problems and quizzes the exams will be a breeze.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is awesome! Dr. Evett is a great teacher and he is always willing to help during office hours and after class. I would recommend doing the practice tests, even if only the morning of the exam (as it was a night class) because they really help you to understand the main topics.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the basics of chemistry. The highlights of this course were the labs. All of the labs were interesting and the lab environment was super chill. Unlike lecture, which was just taking notes and asking questions, in labs there were a lot more discussions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the practice tests!! They really help you to understand and master the concepts. If you can do algebra then the math within the course shouldn't be too hard.. just don't overthink the stoichiometry.
