This course focuses on the interconnected functions of quality assurance and risk management in the health care field and the ways they are used to increase the quality of patient care and decrease the risk of litigation. Learners analyze key components of quality assurance and risk management functions, quality indicators, and valid and reliable sources of decision-making information. Learners also examine the ways quality assurance assessment and evaluation is used to ensure that the educational needs of organizations are continually met.
