Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is where you pick your foundation. Every counselor has a theory he/she identifies with, and this is where you figure out which one(s) fit you.

    Course highlights:

Throughout the class you create a go to guide of theories and approaches. These have been my lifeline in other courses in my program. Be detailed, pay attention to what the bones of a theory are, even if you don't agree with it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The book is good but don't rely on it for all your study needs. Look for articles and reviews.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course since it allows you to deep dive psychotherapy techniques and think critically about the clinical options you have when working with clients.

    Course highlights:

Since I am still enrolled in the course, I can only speak to the first few weeks. So far the course has really been helpful in building a stronger knowledge base of theories within the field of psychology, including their origin and present day applications.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with your reading and be an active learner! Ask lots of questions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was a time to gain insight into HOW to work with clients, and to be okay with how you relate to people/clients.

    Course highlights:

Oddly enough, I learned about myself. I learned about why I am doing this. I learned that the passion and drive to keep going through sleepless nights and days, through 3 babies, IT WAS WORTH IT. And I am strong...I learned about me.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do NOT hesitate to give it your all. Dive in, jump off the cliff!
