    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a great start to understanding psychological testing and terms used for this type of testing.

    Course highlights:

One thing I gained from the course is better APA writing skills. My skills were poor or lacking and it allowed me to work on citation mistakes that I was not aware of. Another benefit of the course is that it gave a base understanding of the different forms of testing and standards or criteria that each test should be meeting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not go into the course with the idea that it is hard. Ask questions for clarification. Always take the quizzes for better understanding of what is being discussed as well as classroom meetings. The information can be very difficult if time and patience is not dedicated to reading and class. Pay close attention to APA standards as this class grades harshly for any mistakes.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I'm not a strong statistician so my opinion is bias; but it was a required course so I took it and managed a C.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this, and any online course really, is the interaction with the other online learners. It's helpful to read dialogue between other students that are also struggling to balance their day, jobs, families, and classes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I took two classes that quarter and it turned out to be a little overwhelming considering I already knew I wasn't strong in statistics. My advice would be to only take one class at a time during if it's known to be challenging in order to allow ample time to succeed at it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was extremely informative, and helped me to understand tests and measurements in its entirety. Dr. Schneider was one of the best Instructors I have ever had, and his TA's really helped in the SI sessions. Loved this course, and not many can say that when they complete a course that is difficult with tons of research.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to read different tests and measurements found in psychological testing. I also learned how to research the different tests that may be used in my field of study, and about psychological testing requirements. I learned the proper way to use such tests and how such tests and measurements can also be harmful to indviduals if not used properly and with careful concideration.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Go to all of the SI Session, read everything assigned, get the book Tests and Measurements for People who Hate Tests and Measurements, even if it is no longer required for the course. It is an amazing read, and will help you understand the course better than any other textbook I have ever read! Also if you have questions do not be afraid to ask, no matter what the question, and if you can ask for Dr. Schneider, do so he is awesome and is able to walk an indvidual through the assignment even when he or she is completely dumbfounded!
