    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although the material is lengthy and requires a heavy understanding and memory, the teacher, Dr. Satram, does an amazing job of teaching the material. He teaches it in a way that makes it easy to understand and keeps the student interested and on task. Being that this class is needed for many degrees and can be complicated, a good teacher is the key to success which this class has. This class gives the student a cool and in-depth look at the mysterious and amazing human body with active learning to help the student with the material.

    Course highlights:

Probably one of the best and most exciting part of this class is the lab portion of it. In the lab is when the student can get an up close and hands on experience with what was taught in lecture. For example, during the chapter on the brain, Dr. Satram brought out sheep brains for us to dissect and explore to better understand the parts of the brain. There were also labs where we had to do certain tests performed in many medical professions such as eye sight testing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The number one thing the student needs to do is study hard. A big portion of the course grade comes from the testing that is done in class as well as the midterm and final. The tests are multiple choice and are done weekly on the chapter/s gone over the previous week. The second part of success for this class is to get the easy points. The homework is done online through book questions as well as participation points for being in class. The easy points can mean the difference of just passing and not passing the class. This course is an evening course and combined with the lab on the same night. The student should be well rested as the course runs pretty late, for example, to 9:45pm.
