Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a fantastic way to take what you have learned in the CORE curriculum at Oglethorpe and use that to develop a new perspective of the world. Literature is a great way to explore the human condition and how we have changed, but art and culture expressed through art is an entirely different exploration.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were exploring major works of art that you may have heard of and other works that you have not. The class is lecture based and goes through the major periods of history, while also developing conversations about how man gets from point A to point B in cultural changes. I learned about the different ways to actually see art as a vessel of culture and how different cultures are incredibly similar in their artistic expressions of life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always read and always take notes. Find one thing about each work of art that inspires you, speaks to you, or teaches you something, otherwise you miss amazing insights into mankind!
