Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course lays ground work for rest of your college math career. Kevin does an outstanding job actually explaining and teaching students. Unlike other courses he actually cares and wants you to learn.

    Course highlights:

Through this course I brushed up on things I have learned in the past but were rusty on, and also more complex things. ALEKS, which is the online math you also do included in the course, helps a lot and builds off of what Kevin teaches.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this course! It has tremendously helped in building my skills and brushing the rust off those skills that I have forgotten I already had. The professor cares and has a friendly environment for each one of his students.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it helps to give anyone who feels as though they are not good at math to regain a solid base line to keep building their math knowledge off of.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about exponents. They were my favorite part. I learned new ways of dealing with them and understanding them in a way that made it easier for me. I also loved Kevin's joke of the day. That was great.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Give it your all. Do NOT be scared to ask for help. This is your future. Math is used in everything, if you don't understand it, it will be harder than before. If you ask for help and make a solid effort, you will do great!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great way to get your math skills up to speed. The professor breaks all the basics of algebra down into understandable chunks. Also, the online component of the course is very helpful.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course are the online component (ALEKS), the spiral assignments, and in class group work. All these things combine to form a very effective math learning environment.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you are ready for this course. If you are not ready do not be embarrassed about starting at a lower class level. If you do take this course you will get through it as long as you stay caught up on your work. Falling behind will lead to bad grades.
