    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It is extremely fun because most of the days, you get to ride your horse! The hands-on learning and getting to ride as the instructor gives you instruction on how to improve really adds to the ease that comes with learning. For future students that wish to learn though, be a bit careful. The instructor did have a small tendency to start talking to some of the other students and become distracted, so if you feel he isn't paying attention to your riding technique, speak up and tell him. He is there to teach, not to talk about the latest topics and town gossip outside of class.

    Course highlights:

I learned an incredible amount about the fundamentals (basics) of riding your horse and teaching it the more simple maneuvers, like a leg yield, half-pass, and flying lead changes. Riding a horse was more than a bonus; it was the highlight of my entire year!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely ride outside of class, no matter how much time you have. Also, take time to memorize the foot-fall patterns at the walk and canter; he goes over those repeatedly so it'll help you memorize it, but he stresses it on every test, so be prepared.
