    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Awesome opportunity to do something creative. The course is a beginners guide to various forms of creative writing from fiction to screenplays to writing for digital media outlets.

    Course highlights:

I learned to approach creative writing from a more mature place than in high school using more specific techniques.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you attend lectures and keep up with the readings (which are fairly minimal) you should be just fine!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone, regardless of creative writing experience or desire, because the ability to write in the modern workplace is probably one of the most valued and crucial. Even if you don't like writing, step out of your comfort zone and be open to learning one of the most basic means of self-expression. The course itself is very broad and as an introductory course, does not really get into the specifics or technicalities of all genres of writing. However, it is a good overview of the field and can spark some creative ideas in other disciplines that you might not have had otherwise.

    Course highlights:

The course had a large focus on creative fiction, and what makes for good writing in general. Lectures are not too heavy and while a lot of things may seem self-explanatory, make sure you write them down so that when you're writing your creative pieces, you can integrate lessons from the lectures into your writing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be open to criticism of our work, because grading is often subjective, but good practice for what the future may hold.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Relatively easy course that allows you to unpack your creative capacity. As someone who had been used to scholarly writing, it was a nice change of pace to write narratives and even create music.

    Course highlights:

Tariq was a great professor who was able to engage the class consistently despite teaching some rather lackluster topics. Learned about the various styles and forms of writing, as well as the ways in which media has changed and affected the sharing of creativity.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

The quizzes are easy as long as you attend class. While the assignments don't take too long to finish, it is always best to get to a good start on them, so you're not panicking when the due date gets closer.
