Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course material is invaluable for anyone going into mathematics or the sciences. Since many of the laws of nature are written in the language of partial differential equations an understanding of them is extremely important. That knowledge is what this course provides.

    Course highlights:

Fairly straightforward. Very similar to MATH 215/255 (ordinary differential equations) so if you did well in that course you should do well in this one. Learned Fourier series, the heat equation, the wave equation, the laplace equation, sturm-liouville, and series solutions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just work hard and you'll do fine. The material isn't super difficult but you do need to put the time into studying and doing the homework. If you can understand the homework then you should be good to go for the final exam.
