    Course highlights:

From this course, I gained a better understanding of what exactly lingusitics is as well as how language works, how it is acquired, and how it changes over time. Advice for students:

Don't tune out the professor and take good notes. If you don't understand something, meet with a TA or go to the professor's office hours. Using the study guide is also very helpful for practice problems.
