Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you want to read and learn about Japanese culture this is a great place to start. We started at the beginning with Japans creation myths in the "kojiki" and ended the semester in the show a period with at short story called the "rain tree" every story was interesting. The professor knows what she's talking about with the background andknowledge of the authors themselves.

    Course highlights:

My favorite parts of this class were the in class group discussions. Professor provided questions that as a group you would describe answer and agree upon she hand in at the end of class. You would always get an automatic 100. This meant you were getting to know your classmates and their views on the Japanese literature in the culture itself. There are only two exams . Both are essay questions. The professor grades fairly, its about quality not quantity.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the reading and show up for classes. Doing that pretty much guarantees that you'll get B+ or an A- especially if you participate in the group discussions.
