Pretty easy, overall.
This is a required class for most STEM majors. It is pretty interesting and not too challenging if you were paying attention in your high school biology class. This course covers standard intro biology material including the life cycle, mitosis and meiosis, plant reproduction, phylogeny, evolution, natural selection, genetic drift, and other major concepts in biology. If you have a good grasp of biology already, then you will do great in this course.
Professor Nehm is a highlight of this course himself. He is very funny and really wants his students to understand the material. He has a great teaching style that is easy to follow and also won't make you fall asleep in lecture. I have learned a lot about phylogenies, trees of life, fossil record, plant evolution, and many more topics.

Advice for students:
If you are a STEM major, this course is probably a requirement. But don't worry, it is not a challenge as long as you put in some effort. Go to lecture, even if you already know the material, some exam questions come straight from the power points shown in class or what is stated by the professor in class.
